Project VoiceScape was a partnership
between WNED (http://www.wned.org), Adobe Youth Voices
(http://youthvoices.adobe.com/), PBS (http://pbs.org), POV
(http://www.pbs.org/pov/voicescape/) and these local partners: Buffalo Public Schools (Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing
Arts), Orchard Park High School, and East Aurora High School.
Adobe Youth Voices aims to empower
youth in underserved communities around the globe with real-world
experiences and 21st century tools to communicate their ideas,
exhibit their potential, and take action in their communities. With a
focus on empowering youth, Adobe Youth Voices supports young people
in and out of school and encourages the use of cutting-edge
multimedia tools to communicate and share their ideas, demonstrate
their potential, and take action where they live.
When all the youth media projects were
complete, WNED held a Premiere Event to showcase all the hard work
done by our partners and their students. Everyone enjoyed seeing what
each other had done and gathered tips and ideas for future projects.
They all felt it was a worthwhile project and loved being able to
connect and share with peers from other areas of Western New York.
After extensive review, WNED chose 5 pieces that were submitted to
POV/PBS.
